Angus Buerk is a television director, not a detective. When he stumbles across a dead body, he reports it to the authorities, and it seems like that should be the end of it. He wouldn't mind getting to know Detective Inspector Rowena Munro a little better, but he doesn't have any plans to get involved in a murder case. Not that he could get involved if he wanted to; there's been a reported sighting of a bird thought long-extinct, which means he's going to have to spend the next few days up in the Orkney Isles, far from the scene of the crime. But for some reason the corpses are following him. It seems like every time he turns around there's another body, another disappearance.
