The purpose of this book is to present some of the basic concepts and methods of statistics in a clear and understandable manner. The level is appropriate to students with a limited mathematical background. Because statistics allows us to use data to gain insight into a problem, we emphasize understanding rather than mastering statistical technique. This text book is intended for undergradute students of various diciplines. However, it can also be used by graduate students and researchers.
